🍽️ Dine for a Cause: El Santo’s 2024 Fundraiser for Canucks Autism Network

El Santo Restaurant in New Westminster is set to host its annual fundraiser supporting the Canucks Autism Network (CAN) on Sunday, November 24th, 2024. The event will offer an unforgettable evening of live music, vibrant entertainment, and an exquisite seven-course meal, each course carefully paired with curated beverages. This special evening will not only bring the community together but will also raise critical funds for CAN's mission of enhancing the lives of individuals and families living with autism.

Over the years, el Santo has raised over $126,000 for CAN, with contributions from both loyal patrons and supportive local businesses. Funds raised have enabled CAN to expand its programs, from adaptive sports and recreation to arts, social skills, employment, and mental health initiatives. Established in 2008 by Paolo and Clara Aquilini, CAN began with a single-adapted soccer program. Today, CAN serves thousands of individuals across British Columbia through both in-person and virtual programs, along with accessibility training for community organizations.

This year's fundraiser invites attendees to experience a beautiful evening while supporting a cause dedicated to fostering inclusivity and providing Autistic individuals with opportunities to thrive. All proceeds from the evening will go directly to CAN, helping to build a brighter future where every person on the autism spectrum feels included, supported, and celebrated. Purchase your tickets here.

🎄 2024 Annual Lighting of the Firehall Brings Festive Cheer and Community Giving

Will We See You There?

The Queensborough Firehall is set to dazzle the community with its annual "Lighting of the Firehall" event on Saturday, November 30, from 6 to 8 PM. This festive evening promises a warm gathering filled with treats, music, and community spirit. Guests can savor baked delights from Take The Cake, sip on hot cocoa from Tim Hortons, and enjoy seasonal songs performed by the Queensborough Middle School band.

Highlights include a visit from Santa and Sparky the Dog and a countdown to the lighting display arranged by the fire station crew. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or monetary donations to support New Westminster's "Don't Go Hungry Program. " The Queensborough Special Programs Committee is tripling all cash donations this year to make an even bigger impact.
