Authorities are investigating a troubling incident in New Westminster after a hidden camera was found inside the men’s changeroom at Upper Hume Park. The New Westminster Police Department was alerted on April 22 when a concerned individual reported discovering the device concealed beneath a bench in the facility.
Police officers responded promptly to the call and conducted a thorough search of the changeroom. The hidden camera, which had been retrieved by the individual, was handed over to officers at the scene and has since been seized for forensic analysis.
The investigation remains active as police work to identify the person responsible. In the meantime, officials are urging the individual behind the act to come forward voluntarily.
The discovery has caused understandable concern among park users. Law enforcement is reassuring the public that the incident is being taken seriously and that all available evidence is being reviewed carefully.

Best of all, this event is free and open to everyone! It’s a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the spirit of spring, clear out a few closets, and support your neighbours in the process. Whether you're hunting for a rare collectible or just out for a sunny stroll, there’s something for everyone at this much-loved neighbourhood event.

So far, 26 homes have registered to participate — and the list is still growing! A garage sale map will be available to help visitors locate each participating home, making it easy to plan your treasure hunt. Keep an eye out: an updated map will be posted closer to May 10!
