Get ready for a weekend of sunshine, community spirit, and exciting baseball action as the 2025 Justin Morneau Minors Tournament swings into Moody Park on Saturday, May 10 and Sunday, May 11!

Named in honour of former MLB star and New West local Justin Morneau, this annual tournament is a highlight of the season for the NWBA Minor Division—and this year’s lineup promises plenty of heart and hustle. Games start bright and early at 9:00 a.m. both days, with Saturday’s results shaping Sunday’s matchups. The final games are expected to wrap up around 3:30 p.m. each day.

This spirited weekend will see New West’s young players take on visiting teams from Hastings, South Vancouver, and Trout Lake Little Leagues, bringing a regional showcase of talent to our own backyard.

Whether you're a proud parent, a curious fan, or just looking for a fun way to spend the weekend, all are welcome to come out and support these rising stars. Players from other NWBA divisions—T-Ball, Rookie, and Major—are especially encouraged to join the fun and cheer on their fellow ballplayers.

No ballpark experience is complete without good eats, and this tournament has you covered! The NWBA concession stand beside Justin Morneau Field will be serving up snacks, treats, and refreshing beverages all weekend long. Plus, enjoy a caffeine kick from Little Miss Coffee on Saturday, and fuel up with delicious bites from the Meet2Eat Food Truck, on-site both days starting at 10:00 a.m..

Behind the scenes, an incredible team of volunteers and umpires is working hard to make this tournament a success. A huge thank-you goes out to each and every one of them—your support truly keeps the game going.

So grab your lawn chairs, wear your team colours, and come be part of this exciting New West tradition. Let’s play ball!

Proudly rooted in the New West/Burnaby community since 1968, this dynamic group has been lighting up New Westminster with their beloved Annual Spring Show for over 50 years—and this year’s performance promises to be their most exciting yet!
