Pacific Breeze Winery

Pacific Breeze, a family-owned winery in New Westminster, holds the distinction of being Canada’s first “Garagiste” winery—a term used to describe small-scale, handcrafted wine production. Since its debut in 2007, the boutique winery has earned over 50 international awards, including five “Best of Class” honors and the title of InterVin’s “Winery of the Year” in 2010.

The winery is known for producing bold red wines and rich whites, with a focus on high-quality, small-batch craftsmanship. Sourcing premium grapes from vineyards in British Columbia, Washington, and California, Pacific Breeze aims to create perfectly balanced wines that highlight the unique characteristics of each varietal. Every barrel and small lot is carefully attended to, ensuring the highest quality in every bottle. Additionally, all of its wines are 100% vegan, reflecting a commitment to sustainability and mindful winemaking.

Beyond crafting fine wines and engaging with customers through its rewards program, Pacific Breeze is also dedicated to supporting community initiatives. One such event is the Rotary Club of New Westminster’s 5th Annual Bevies & Bites, where Pacific Breeze will be one of the featured beverage vendors.

This 19+ event offers guests a lively evening of delicious bites and refreshing drinks, held at Royal City Centre. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample beverages from an impressive lineup of local vendors, including Granville Island Brewing Co., Yellow Dog, Steel & Oak, Red Truck, Dageraad Brewing Co., and many more. Food lovers can also enjoy tasty contributions from Freshslice Pizza, Dan’s Diner, White Spot, Eatfitco, Vadapav Mirchi by Geeta, and Bak’d Cookies, with more food partners to be announced.

The event is not just about great food and drinks—it’s also a FUNdraiser supporting local causes. Guests can participate in a 50/50 draw and a silent auction, with proceeds going toward community projects. Each ticket includes beverage and bites tastings, as well as a souvenir tasting glass to commemorate the evening.

Tickets can be purchased online, or without online fees by contacting [email protected].

Pacific Breeze continues to make a name for itself as a leader in small-batch, high-quality winemaking while also giving back to the community. Whether through its award-winning wines, exciting new rewards program, or its participation in local events like Bevies & Bites, the winery remains committed to delivering exceptional experiences to its customers.

With a passion for quality and a strong connection to its community, Pacific Breeze is more than just a winery—it’s a destination for wine lovers looking for handcrafted excellence and meaningful engagement. Whether you’re sipping on a bold red, enjoying a special birthday reward, or attending a local tasting event, Pacific Breeze continues to raise the bar for fine winemaking in Canada.

The New Westminster Police Department (NWPD) is strengthening its efforts to combat child sexual exploitation with the introduction of a dedicated investigator for these crimes. The new position, announced on February 10, is funded through a three-year federal grant, administered by B.C.'s Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General under the Contribution Program to Combat Serious and Organized Crime.

The investigator will focus on cases involving child sexual abuse materials, working closely with community safety partners and supporting the NWPD’s Major Crime Unit in handling these complex investigations.

According to the NWPD, the department responds to approximately 30 child sexual abuse material offences each year. Police Chief Paul Hyland emphasized the seriousness of these crimes, noting their long-term impact on victims. He stated that the additional resources will enhance the department’s ability to investigate offences, support victims, and hold perpetrators accountable.
