BAK’D Cookies, the sibling-run bakery known for its oversized gourmet cookies and best-seller The Gimme S’more, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Rotary Club of New Westminster’s upcoming Bevies & Bites event on February 22, 2025. The event will raise funds to support the Don’t Go Hungry food program as well as other impactful Rotary initiatives that make a difference in the lives of local families.
The Don’t Go Hungry program plays a vital role in addressing food insecurity in New Westminster, ensuring that vulnerable community members have access to nutritious meals and resources. Additionally, proceeds from the event will help fund a variety of Rotary programs aimed at uplifting the community, such as educational scholarships, youth leadership opportunities, and other initiatives that foster growth and connection.
BAK’D Cookies’ involvement reflects its core mission of using its business as a platform for positive change. Founded during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, BAK’D was born from siblings Jessica and Andy’s passion for baking and their desire to bring comfort and joy to others. Now a thriving business, the bakery continues to give back through initiatives like #cookiesforacause, donating to schools, universities, nonprofits, and local charities.
“Contributing to this event means a lot to us because we’ve seen firsthand how programs like Don’t Go Hungry and Rotary initiatives create meaningful change in our community,” said Jessica and Andy, co-founders of BAK’D. “For us, baking cookies has always been about bringing people happiness, and being able to extend that to something as impactful as fighting food insecurity is a privilege.”
BAK’D Cookies’ sponsorship also highlights its commitment to community connection. Their signature Gimme S’more cookie—featuring gooey marshmallows, dark chocolate chunks, and crunchy graham crackers—was created to spark nostalgia and joy, reminding people of cozy campfire memories. Through this partnership with the Rotary Club, BAK’D aims to take that spirit of comfort even further by helping provide essential resources to those in need.

As attendees gather to support this meaningful event, they’ll be contributing to causes that provide relief and opportunity to countless individuals. BAK’D Cookies is thrilled to be part of this effort and encourages others to join the Rotary Club at the Bevies & Bites event on February 22nd to make a difference.
Whether it’s through their fresh, handcrafted cookies or their ongoing commitment to the community, BAK’D Cookies is proud to stand with the Rotary Club of New Westminster to ensure no one in the community goes hungry. Together, they’re proving that something as simple as a cookie—or an act of kindness—can have a big impact.

📖 New Westminster Museum Seeks High School Yearbooks for Exhibit

Call Today 604-527-4640.
The New Westminster Museum & Archives is putting the finishing touches on an exciting new exhibition set to open on February 6, 2025. However, they’re still on the hunt for copies of the Kimtah, New Westminster Secondary School’s annual yearbook, from the years 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, or 1984.
These vintage yearbooks will serve as a fun, interactive element of the exhibit, allowing visitors to flip through the pages and experience firsthand the type of research museum staff used to curate the display.
If you own a Kimtah yearbook from any of these years and are willing to donate it to the museum’s teaching collection, your contribution will help bring this exhibit to life. Donations will become part of the museum’s permanent collection, enhancing its ability to educate and engage the public with local history.
To donate or for more information, contact the museum at [email protected] or 604-527-4640. Help preserve New Westminster’s rich history for generations to come!
Mark your calendars! The Royal City Rotary is gearing up for the 21st Annual Spring Fling, happening on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Sapperton Community Hall. The event kicks off at 7:30 PM and promises an evening filled with live music, great prizes, and community spirit.
Last year’s event welcomed over 100 attendees who enjoyed a lively performance, an impressive silent auction, and over 40 exciting prizes. The 2024 Spring Fling raised $9,000 in support of PLANS (Physical Literacy, Art, Nature & Science), a free outdoor program designed for families with children aged 2 to 5 years. The program encourages kids to play, explore, and learn in outdoor environments, promoting healthy development.
This year’s Spring Fling will feature live music by HITZ, making it a night you won’t want to miss. Tickets are $40 each, or you can purchase a table for 10 at a discounted price of $350.
To secure your tickets, call 604-803-4213, and be sure to spread the word to friends and family. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for those looking to support this meaningful cause.
