A tragic multi-vehicle collision on the Pattullo Bridge Sunday morning claimed the life of one driver and left others injured. Surrey Police Service confirmed the incident, which occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. on the east end of the bridge, involving a bus and four other vehicles.

Despite the rapid response of Surrey Fire Service and BC Emergency Health Services, a female driver succumbed to her injuries at the scene. While other drivers and passengers also sustained injuries, the exact extent and severity remain unknown.

The cause of the collision is under investigation, with the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) and the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operational Support Unit Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) assisting in the inquiry. Police have not yet determined how the crash occurred.

The Pattullo Bridge, a key connection between Surrey and New Westminster, remains closed in both directions. Authorities anticipate the closures and traffic diversions to continue throughout the day as investigators work on-site.

Surrey Police Service is urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant information, including dashcam footage, to contact them at 604-599-0502 and reference file 2025-7520.
