 👮‍♂️ Downtown New Westminster Stabbing: Victim Recovering, Suspect Arrested

New Westminster police responded to an assault involving a weapon early Friday morning on Clarkson Street in Downtown New Westminster. Officers arrived at the scene around 7:00 a.m., finding an adult male suffering from a stab wound to the shoulder. Emergency personnel from New Westminster Fire and Rescue Services assisted at the scene, and the victim was transported to the hospital by BC Emergency Health Services. His injuries are reported as non-life-threatening.

Police conducted an immediate investigation, gathering evidence, reviewing CCTV footage, and speaking with witnesses. Within three hours, patrol officers located and arrested a suspect. Authorities believe the incident was not random, as the victim and suspect are known to one another. The arrested individual was also found to be in breach of court-ordered conditions.

Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the assault and has not yet spoken with police to come forward by calling 604-525-5411 and referencing file number 25-1071.
