The vibrant spirit of New Westminster’s music scene is making a thrilling comeback with a new monthly series of live shows at the iconic Columbia Theatre. Heritage owner Paul Minhas has joined forces with former Heritage booker/promoter Richard Chapman (Northern Electric Sound) and hall of fame musician Clayton Hill (Trooper) to reignite the musical heartbeat of the Royal City.

Kicking off on Wednesday, January 29th, the first event features an electrifying triple bill: Royal City Rockers, the Rocket Revellers, and the Interstellar Riders. The Interstellar Riders are a surf instrumental trio whose debut EP, released on November 24, 2023, takes listeners on a cosmic journey filled with sonic reverb and space-echo twang. Comprising Joe Rotundo (guitar), Jeremy Holmes (bass), and Todd Biffard (drums), the band is set to dazzle with their unique and atmospheric sound.

Also on the bill, the Rocket Revellers, stewards of early rock ‘n’ roll, swing, and blues, will bring a vitality that keeps audiences dancing all night long. Rounding out the lineup are the Royal City Rockers, guaranteed to deliver high-energy performances.

Tickets are available online and at Begbies Tavern, Groove Cat Books and Records, and The Refill Stop/ReLove Records, but they’re selling fast! Next month, the stage will host Petunia & The Vipers, Dogwood & The Shakers, and Kelly Haigh & The Murderbirds.

This monthly concert series, described as a phoenix rising from the ashes of the dearly missed Heritage Grill, is set to bring sparkle and excitement back to the Columbia Strip. Get ready to dance, revel, and ride as the Golden Mile comes alive once more!
