Get ready for an evening filled with fresh humor, sharp observations, and side-splitting entertainment as the 2024 Wind Up Show for @laughterzone101 takes the stage at the House of Comedy on Columbia Street. On November 28th at 7:30 PM, talented up-and-coming comics will bring their unique perspectives and boundary-pushing humor to life, promising unforgettable moments and countless laughs.

Hosted by the award-winning Janice Bannister, the event is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a night out while supporting local talent. Whether you’re celebrating with your office, book club, or friends, the show offers a chance to unwind, laugh, and connect.

Full food and beverage services will be available during the performance, making it easy to enjoy dinner and drinks while being entertained. Plus, groups attending from local offices will be entered into a special draw to win a FREE set of 2025 stand-up comedy classes.

Tickets are $16 and can be purchased online or at the door. Don’t miss this chance to close out the year with laughter right in your own community.

Brandi of Creative Capricorn Artworks brings a festive spirit and local charm to New Westminster this season. Known for her nature-inspired artwork, Brandi has added handcrafted Christmas decorations to her repertoire, using reclaimed wood to create unique, eco-friendly designs.

This year’s collection includes adorable gnomes crafted from a maple branch that fell during a neighborhood windstorm over a year ago. Typically, Brandi uses old Christmas trees for her creations, allowing the wood to dry for months before transforming it into art. Each piece is meticulously sliced, sanded, and painted, with her latest gnome designs bringing a playful personality to the holiday season.

Beyond the holiday projects, Brandi is celebrating another milestone—her New West Postcard has been selected for the Tourism New West Passport program. This initiative encourages locals and visitors to explore the city, collecting points at various locations to redeem for prizes. Brandi’s postcard captures the essence of New Westminster, further connecting her work to the community she loves.

“I’m so grateful for the support this little passion project has received,” Brandi shares. “Every time my work makes someone happy, it makes my heart happy, too.”

As the holidays approach, Brandi continues to dream up creative ideas, celebrating the intersection of art, community, and sustainability. Whether through her festive gnomes or her postcard’s inclusion in the Tourism New West program, she’s making New Westminster a little brighter, one project at a time. Check out Brandi’s website now.
