Presented by VaughnCo Entertainment Inc., The Wildflowers have earned a reputation as North America’s premier tribute to Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. With a decade of performances under their belt, this international touring band captures the spirit and magic of Petty’s timeless music, delighting fans across the continent.
The idea for The Wildflowers began in 2012 when bassist Darryell Stone reflected on the universal love for Tom Petty. After polling friends, family, and fellow musicians, Stone’s suspicions were confirmed: everyone loves Tom Petty. Among those he consulted was Jonathan Guthrie, a guitarist, lead vocalist, and uncanny Tom Petty lookalike who shared a lifelong dream of playing in a Heartbreakers-style band.
Fueled by a shared passion for Petty’s music, Stone, Guthrie, and a group of seasoned musicians formed The Wildflowers. From the outset, the band’s mission was clear—to recreate Tom Petty’s music with precision, attention to detail, and unwavering respect. Each member meticulously studied their parts, ensuring every note, lyric, and vocal inflection matched the original performances.
Initially performing at local venues, The Wildflowers quickly garnered attention, leading to bookings throughout the southeastern United States. Word of mouth continued to build their reputation, and before long, the band was touring nationally, winning over audiences with their authentic renditions of Tom Petty’s greatest hits.
Today, The Wildflowers are celebrated for their dedication to honoring the legacy of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. With a deep appreciation for Petty’s songwriting and a commitment to delivering an unforgettable concert experience, the band offers fans the chance to relive the magic of songs like Free Fallin’, American Girl, and Learning to Fly.
Whether you’re a lifelong fan or new to Petty’s music, The Wildflowers promise an evening of nostalgia and extraordinary musicianship.

New Westminster is taking significant steps toward building a safer and more accessible city with its Active Transportation Network Plan, approved in October 2022. This ambitious five-year initiative aims to create a comprehensive network of active transportation routes, making walking and biking safer, easier, and more convenient for residents of all ages and abilities.
The plan focuses on connecting major destinations, including neighborhoods, schools, parks, civic facilities, and commercial hubs while improving links to regional routes. By prioritizing accessibility, sustainability, and equity, the city aims to foster healthier, climate-conscious transportation habits.
Key features of the plan include:
Expanding the all-ages-and-abilities (AAA) network to provide safer, more comfortable options for walking and biking.
Improving connections between neighborhoods and regional destinations.
Utilizing quick-build designs for faster, more cost-effective, and adaptable infrastructure improvements.
Aligning with the city’s Master Transportation Plan and its Seven Bold Steps for Climate Action.
Progress and Next Steps
In 2024, detailed planning will continue for five key routes identified in the plan. Work on the Boyd Street corridor in Queensborough and the Seventh Avenue West corridor in the West End has already progressed, with public engagement completed earlier this year. Construction on these routes is scheduled to begin in early 2025.
The city is now shifting focus to the Seventh Street corridor in Uptown. Plans will prioritize user-friendly designs to integrate this route seamlessly into the broader transportation network, providing enhanced mobility options for residents and visitors alike.
This forward-thinking initiative marks a vital step in creating a more sustainable, equitable, and ready city for the future. Take the Survey Now!
