🥳 Good News at the Quay: River Market Overpass Repaired

Residents and visitors to the Quay can now celebrate the long-awaited repair of the second-level overpass at the River Market. Although the restoration faced delays due to the project requiring more work than initially anticipated, the results are worth the wait.

The repair has brought renewed functionality and appeal to a key feature of the River Market, a hub for community and commerce in New Westminster. While the process took longer than expected, the completion of this project underscores the market's dedication to enhancing the Quay experience for all.

This improvement at the River Market is a welcome development, showing how perseverance and commitment can lead to positive changes in the community.

🌳  A Farewell to One of Simcoe Park’s Big Trees

Aftermath from the storm…

Simcoe Park, one of New Westminster’s largest and most picturesque neighborhood parks, has lost one of its iconic large trees. Known for its vibrant community garden, tennis courts, adventure playground, soccer field, and open green spaces, the park offers scenic views of the Fraser River and serves as a beloved gathering place for locals.

The loss of the tree has left a noticeable void, but a thoughtful gesture left behind has touched the hearts of many. A sweet poem placed at the site honors the tree and its role in the park’s beauty and charm. This heartfelt tribute reflects the deep connection the community feels to the park’s natural landmarks.

Parting Words

Dear Tree, dear Tree

You were always with me

Even though I was new

You left me, askew.

Dear Tree, dear Tree

How tall you used to be.

But you went way low,

After the wind's great blow.

Dear Tree, dear Tree

You were always with me.

But you have left us now,

In a great feeling of sorrow.

Love
