📚️ Shop the Herbert Spencer Elementary Book Fair Online for Holiday Gifts and School Support
Herbert Spencer Elementary School is inviting families to grow their home libraries and support literacy through an online book fair in partnership with Kinder Books. Running exclusively online, the fair allows families to shop for carefully curated children’s books, including popular favorites that make perfect holiday gifts.
By using the code HSESBF during checkout, orders can be shipped directly to the school at no extra cost, ready for easy pickup. Additionally, 10% of all sales will be returned to the school as store credit to expand the library’s offerings for students.
Kinder Books, located at the River Market in New Westminster Quay, is well-loved for its handpicked selection of children’s books and regular community events. This partnership aims to encourage young readers while also giving back to the school community.

Will We See You There?
The New Westminster Chamber’s upcoming “Innovative HR Solutions Lunch and Learn” event will spotlight effective hiring strategies for today’s diverse workforce, featuring two insightful panel discussions. One of the key panels includes speakers from Kinsight, a local organization focused on community inclusion and employment support.
Speakers include:
Cathy Anthony, Community Engagement Coordinator
Tina Dam, MentorAbility Hub Coordinator
Lauren Stead, LIFE Program Coordinator
Jeanette Carriere, Employment Services Representative
Heidi Maddrell, Community Development expert and panel moderator
Topics covered will explore how data-driven decisions, team diversity, and inclusive hiring can ease hiring challenges faced by small businesses. Attendees will gain valuable tools for improving recruitment and retention, and learn how diversity in hiring can benefit workplace culture and productivity.
Tickets are available for $20 for Chamber members and $30 for non-members, with discounted tickets for those who need them. The registration deadline is November 18, 2024. For more details or to register, contact [email protected].
