No Foul Play Involved

The death of a 38-year-old woman in Queensborough, which occurred in late September, has been determined not to involve foul play. On September 24, officers from the New Westminster Police Department (NWPD) were called to a residence on Salter Street in response to a sudden death. Due to the initial uncertainty surrounding the situation, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was brought in to assist after the woman was found deceased under suspicious circumstances.

IHIT, working alongside the NWPD's Major Crime Unit, the Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS), and BC Coroner Service, conducted a comprehensive investigation. Their work led to the conclusion that the woman's death was not criminal in nature.

The investigation, which initially alarmed some residents of the area, has now ruled out any threat to public safety. Law enforcement officials have emphasized that, despite the early suspicions, no foul play was involved. Residents have been thanked for their patience as authorities worked to clarify the situation.
