 🦦 Our Aquatic Centre Joins Global Icons in Prestigious Architecture Award

The təməsew̓txʷ Aquatic and Community Centre in New Westminster is one of six venues named as a laureate for the 2024 Prix Versailles architecture award, alongside prominent sports facilities like Beijing’s Workers' Stadium and Paris’s Olympic Aquatic Centre. The centre, designed with a focus on inclusivity and environmental responsibility, features extensive aquatic and recreational amenities. Winners will be announced in December at UNESCO headquarters.

 👵 New Westminster Senior Scammed in $20,000 Jewelry Theft Using Fake Gold

A senior in Uptown New Westminster was targeted by a scammer who stole jewelry worth $20,000 by swapping it for fake gold. Police are investigating the incident and warn the public to be cautious of fraudsters who use fake gold jewelry to distract and steal from victims, especially seniors. The suspect is described as a woman in her mid-thirties, and anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
