 👯 Holiday Fun Awaits Tweens at New West’s Dance Party

Get ready to celebrate the holiday season at Century House with a special dance party designed exclusively for tweens aged 11 to 13! On Saturday, December 14, from 7:00 to 9:30 PM, this festive event promises an evening packed with fun activities, holiday treats, and plenty of music to keep everyone dancing.

Attendees can capture memories at a holiday-themed photo booth, warm up with hot chocolate and festive snacks, and unleash their creativity at the craft corner. The dance floor will come alive with interactive games, and exciting raffle prizes will add to the evening’s thrill.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available for $5.00 for New West Youth Members and $7.00 for non-members. No tickets will be sold at the door. To register, visit any New Westminster recreation facility, call by phone, or sign up online using Course ID 00216673.

 ⛽️ New Westminster Fuel Prices Return to Mid-Summer Levels

New Westminster drivers are seeing gas prices similar to mid-summer levels as November wraps up. Local prices range from $1.71 to $1.76 per litre, reflecting a narrow five-cent difference between the most affordable and most expensive options in the city.

The cheapest fuel price, $1.71 per litre, is offered at the Centex and GOMarket on Ewen Avenue, a rate that matches prices from June. This makes it the fifth least expensive fuel in Metro Vancouver, according to a November 29th report from GasBuddy.com.

At the higher end, gas in New West reaches $1.76 per litre, just two cents above the regional average of $1.74 per litre.

Elsewhere in British Columbia, Kimberley boasts the province’s lowest gas prices, with fuel priced at $1.44 per litre at the local Centex and Esso. Nearby Cranbrook offers gas at $1.45 per litre. The most affordable fuel within driving distance of New Westminster can be found in Langley, where the Super Save Gas on 200 Street is priced at $1.67 per litre.

For New Westminster, the following gas prices were recorded as of 11:45 AM on November 29:

• $1.71.9/L: Centex and GOMarket (1101 Ewen Ave.)

• $1.72.9/L: Petro-Canada (132 12th St.)

• $1.73.9/L: Chevron and On The Run (465 Brunette Ave.)

• $1.74.9/L: Chevron and On The Run (3 E 8th Ave.), Chevron (496 E Columbia St.), and Shell (5 W 8th Ave.)

• $1.75.9/L: Esso and 7-Eleven (780 6th St.)

• $1.76.9/L: Esso and 7-Eleven (736 Sixth Ave.) and Chevron (428 Sixth St.)
