🕵️♂️ New West News
TransLink faces a $600 million deficit, threatening major transit service cuts across Metro Vancouver. If new funding isn’t secured by 2025, the region could see up to 50% of bus services cut, along with significant reductions in SkyTrain and SeaBus operations. An independent report warns that the economic impacts could be widespread, with up to 21,000 more vehicles on the road, $1,000 in additional annual costs for households, and a rise in congestion and accidents. Local leaders and politicians are pushing for increased funding, emphasizing the potential harm to the economy and quality of life in the region.
