Did you know many newcomers are unaware of the amazing services and programs libraries offer? Volunteering as a Library Champion is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference in your community by helping others discover the valuable resources libraries provide.

Library Champions inform newcomers about library programs and services, encouraging them to become library users while building their own skills and connections along the way.

Why Volunteer as a Library Champion?

As a Library Champion, you’ll:

• Gain a deeper understanding of library services and programs.

• Develop communication and presentation skills.

• Make a meaningful contribution to your community.

• Receive a certificate of achievement upon completion.

• Get a volunteer work reference for your active participation.

• Receive support for transportation costs.

Who Can Become a Library Champion?

This volunteer opportunity is open to individuals who meet the following criteria:

• Are 19 years of age or older.

• Are a permanent resident but not yet a Canadian citizen.

• Enjoy volunteering, connecting with others, and using technology for online outreach.

• Love libraries and helping people.
