The təməsew̓txʷ Aquatic and Community Centre in New Westminster has earned global recognition by winning the 2024 Prix Versailles World Title Special Prize for Interior Design in the Sports category. This makes it only the third Canadian project to receive the award since the competition's inception in 2015.

The Prix Versailles is a prestigious architectural competition that celebrates outstanding contemporary design projects from around the world. Winning this award is a significant accomplishment, highlighting the centre’s innovative and striking interior design.

Celebrate the Achievement with the Community

The City of New Westminster and Parks and Recreation invite everyone to join in celebrating this remarkable achievement with a day of activities and free access to the təməsew̓txʷ Aquatic and Community Centre on Sunday, December 15, 2024.

Event Schedule:

12:30 PM – 8:30 PM: Free public swimming in the aquatic centre.
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Enjoy the Wibit inflatable obstacle course in the pool.
12:30 PM – 8:30 PM: Free access to the fitness centre.
3:00 PM – 8:30 PM: Drop-in family sports in the community spaces.

Attendees will also be treated to refreshments as they celebrate this monumental achievement for the təməsew̓txʷ Aquatic and Community Centre and the city of New Westminster.
