Cybersecurity experts are issuing an urgent warning about a dangerous new phone scam that exploits advanced AI technology to hijack personal devices and compromise user privacy. Victims report receiving calls where the incoming screen captures their facial image instantly upon answering, triggering a sophisticated identity theft mechanism. Criminals are using cutting-edge facial recognition and voice recording technologies to potentially clone user identities, access personal information, and manipulate contacts through AI-generated video calls. Experts advise users to immediately disconnect suspicious calls, especially those with international prefixes like +852, without engaging or speaking. Law enforcement agencies are investigating this emerging threat, which appears to leverage artificial intelligence to create highly convincing impersonations and gain unauthorized access to personal data and social networks.

• Do not answer calls from unknown international numbers

• Avoid facing the screen if an unexpected call displays your image

• Immediately disconnect suspicious calls
