Queensborough Pharmacy: A Hidden Gem of Personalized Care and Community Spirit
Nestled in the heart of Queensborough, this small but mighty pharmacy has been a community pillar for 13 years. Founded by Rob Dhasi, Queensborough Pharmacy came to life from his desire to provide a level of personalized care that big-chain pharmacies couldn’t match. “Some customers have greater needs,” Rob explains, “and I wanted the time and flexibility to serve them properly.”
A Pharmacy That Puts People First
At Queensborough Pharmacy, it’s more than just dispensing prescriptions. Rob prides himself on partnering with his customers to improve their health. From personalized consultations to doorstep delivery for customers who have mobility challenges, the store offers a wide range of services designed with care and accessibility in mind.

“I believe it’s not enough just to hand out pills,” Rob shares. This philosophy is evident in every interaction, whether it’s making time for a senior who needs extra support or staying late on a Friday evening to ensure someone gets their medication.
One heartwarming story speaks to the depth of his care: while giving a flu shot, Rob noticed something unusual on a customer’s ear. Encouraging him to get it checked out, the man returned 12 days later with gratitude, explaining that Rob had effectively saved his life. The spot turned out to be an aggressive form of cancer, and thanks to Rob’s observation, it was caught and treated just in time.
More Than a Pharmacy—A Community Hub
Queensborough Pharmacy is more than a place to pick up prescriptions. It’s a space where neighbors stop in to say hello while out for a walk and where customers are treated like family. “I love the Queensborough area,” Rob says. “It’s small enough to get to know people and build real relationships.”
Rob’s connection to the community goes beyond his store. He contributes to local events and projects, such as supporting the Sikh Temple parade and helping create a video documenting the history of Queensborough. His efforts reflect his deep appreciation for the area and its people.
Even customers who’ve moved away from Queensborough remain loyal to Rob’s exceptional service, traveling from as far as Vernon to refill their prescriptions.
In addition to its warm, personalized atmosphere, Queensborough Pharmacy keeps pace with modern needs. Their robust online store specializes in vitamins, making it easy for customers to shop from the comfort of their homes. Exciting changes are also on the horizon, with new essential products arriving in the New Year and plans to potentially expand store hours.

Despite being conveniently located on 1028 Ewen Avenue, Rob knows some might miss his small storefront in the bustling neighborhood. “Many people come in and ask, ‘When did you open?’” he says with a smile. “The answer is 13 years ago!”
Stop by and See for Yourself
Rob invites everyone—whether you’re a longtime resident or just passing through—to visit Queensborough Pharmacy. Experience the warmth of a local business that truly cares, and discover why so many people, from all walks of life, trust Rob and his team.
Queensborough Pharmacy isn’t just a place to fill prescriptions; it’s a cornerstone of the community, built on kindness, trust, and a genuine commitment to helping others. Drop by today—you might just find more than you were looking for!! 1028 Ewen Avenue 778-397-1132

The Pattullo Bridge replacement project team has announced that the closure of Front Street between Begbie and East Columbia streets will remain in effect until March 14, 2025. Initially slated to reopen sooner, this extension is necessary to complete critical work on the new bridge.
Since June, crews have been using this section of Front Street to build a temporary support tower, install steel girders, construct the bridge deck, and create a new drainage outfall beneath the street. Fraser Crossing Partners, the company designing and building the Pattullo Bridge replacement, had originally planned a six-month closure starting the week of June 17, but delays have pushed the timeline further.
The replacement project, which began during the pandemic, has encountered several hurdles, including inflation, supply chain disruptions, and longer-than-anticipated construction of the bridge towers. In May, B.C.’s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure announced that the bridge’s opening would be delayed until fall 2025, citing these significant challenges.
While no updated timeline has been provided since that announcement, the current work over Front Street is vital to advancing the project.
Despite the extended closure, access to businesses in downtown New Westminster, including those on Front Street Mews, remains open. Regular traffic is being rerouted to Columbia Street, while trucks are using designated truck routes such as Royal Avenue and Braid Street/East Eighth Avenue during the day and alternate routes at night. Clear signage and traffic control personnel are in place to assist drivers and maintain safety.
Residents and commuters are thanked for their ongoing patience as construction continues on this vital infrastructure project.
